The Jim Clark Trust is planning a big celebration in June to mark the 60th anniversary of Jim Clark’s second Formula One World Championship win and his victory at the Indianapolis 500 – a record that remains unbeaten. The trust will be hosting the festivities at Duns Castle on 28/29 June.
This event promises to be truly memorable, featuring a display of many of Clark’s racing and saloon cars, alongside Classic Team Lotus vehicles. Additionally, his mechanics will be in attendance to share their stories and insights. The weekend of celebrations will kick off with a garden party on the Friday night for all car owners and sponsors, offering an opportunity to connect and reminisce.
As part of the weekend, Lotus racing cars will take to the main driveway of the castle, immersing attendees in the thrill of racing history. The event will also feature an extensive archive display that will tell the story of Clark’s career, while the retail village will offer the chance to buy souvenir merchandise as well as food and drink.
Tickets cost just £12.50 in advance or £15 on the day, with gates open from 10am to 4pm. It promises to be a memorable event for anyone interested in Lotus’s motorsport heritage. More details are available from the Jim Clark Trust.
